We've finally moved in

This is just a quick blog update to let you know we've finally moved in to our house. We've been there 3 nights now & we're very happy to finally be there. We dont have the internet connected as yet. Its a brand new area so they have a bit to do to get it connected. We've been told about 2 weeks but who knows.  I'm using the net on my phone (expensive) or we're at internet cafes (as i am now). Our container arrives in Bangkok tomorrow & all being well we should have it delivered to us late this week or early week after - cross fingers. I will update with more info & pics when I can.

We’ve been busy busy doing things to get the house ready to move into, so I thought in this post I would share some of the photos I’ve taken over the last week or so.  Just some of the things we’ve seen on our way around town etc.

here we are - finally

Well, here we are - finally in starting the next phase of our excellent adventure - we're in Krabi!  We arrived early Monday morning - 7.30am local time.  We went straight to the apartment we're renting to drop our bags.  There's no food in the place so we headed out to the brand new Tesco Lotus they have built in AoNang.  We stopped at our house for a quick look - it looks fantastic. Photos below.

Tuesday we had a meeting with Somjai the builder onsite.  We went through the house and everything that needs to be done.  Not too much but enough to stop us moving right in.  Though in saying that, we don’t have a bed to sleep on so it might be a bit rough sleeping there at the moment.

We’ve started looking for furniture etc for the house.  We bought a fridge on Tuesday and a washing machine and freezer today.  Still lots to buy but want to move in before we get too much.  That way we can see exactly what we need.  We also need to wait for our container to arrive before we get too much – there’s a whole house in that container.

For those that come for a visit, you can see we have the creature comforts from home.  Lots of Aussie wines here and for those of us who don’t feel like going out for dinner – Maccas delivers here J

That’ all the news for now.  I’ll keep you updated over the next days and weeks as to what’s happening.

it's time to go......







well, the time has finally arrived and we're off to Thailand.  All our household worldly possessions are in that container in the picture and they're on their way.  The ship leaves Port of Brisbane on Monday (the Kota Lambang) and should arrive in Bangkok about 30 days later.  We fly out of the Gold Coast on Sunday night and arrive in Krabi Monday morning around 10.30 am Brisbane time. 
We'll be staying at the apartment we've rented until our furniture arrives or until we buy a bed and a fridge.  We are keeping our bigpond email address so you can email us when we arrive as we still have the internet at the apartment.  I'll put some pictures of the finished house on the blog sometime next week so you can see.

Gary is in Krabi at the moment going over a few things with the builder.  He'll be back on Wednesday morning but he sent through these photos of the house.  It's looking great.

Holger, our project manager has sent through a few more photos of our house.  It's looking good.  Gary is going over for possible handover on 6 December for about 4 days.  He hopefully, should be bringing the keys to the front door home.  We're staying here for Christmas and heading over to live there in January some time..... not sure of the exact date as yet.
